History
Tritone Parking is situated at 54 Piazza San Claudio
Up until 1940, Piazza San Claudio was separated from the nearby Piazza San Silvestro by a cluster of houses, which were demolished to create a single larger open area made up of the two squares. The name San Claudio is derived from the name of the church of “Ss. Andrea e Claudio dei Borgognoni” which faces onto the square. Built in the XVII century, this church is dedicated to the patron saints of a colony of settlers from the ancient Burgundy region of France.
Between 1940 and 1950, the square became the terminus for all the bus and trolleybus lines which connected the outskirts of Rome with the city centre.
